Another Man’s Shoes

I missed Monday’s poem, so here is the first of two for Tuesday. Simply about borrowing shoes. It would have been ready for Monday, but I made the rookie mistake of writing without research! I originally put “the sixth” where “seven” is. My memory failed me on the Ten Commandments!

Yes, he gave me permission.
I did not break seven,
Nor did I covet once!
It’s sensible, given
That my own have two holes
And these end in steel toes.
A sturdy remedy
To solve all my wet woes.
