A Decision Is Made

It is late in the evening, but it’s been another long day. I wish I had more time to write. I suppose that’s down to me.

I stand and she winces,
This movement convinces.
Sitting down by her side,
I again do decide,
That it is her I love,

I must work on above,
That calling to duty.
Holding a hand loosely,
(For she offers it limp),
I resolve not to skimp,
On the time I can give,
Nor in the way I live.
