The Youngster, and Happiness, Has Returned

I was once a happy young boy, who waved,
To all the lorry-men carrying bins.
Then gone. I wonder was attention craved,
A kind of loving gained from all their grins.

But ah! The youngster has returned full grown,
And full of love and happiness also,
Enough to share with those to call his own,
He’s eager, the seed of friendship, to sow.
