To See The Monolithic Shadow

To see the monolith that ruled her life,
That shadowed over her every thought,
And to know that it no longer controls,
Is a mix of emotions that love and memories have bought.

To see the brickwork lain in front of me,
Arrayed still in buildings towering high,
It seems a lot less intimidating,
But it holds so much for, and from, her that it deems a deep sigh.
